This short Amercian Society of Landscape Architects video gives a great illustration of why trees are so important, now more than ever.

Why is planting trees in urban areas important?

Trees provide beauty, shade, energy savings, and habitat, which is uniquely valuable in our cities. But your support as a donor or volunteer is also important to combat climate change right here at home in Little Rock. Trees remove carbon from the atmosphere, provide oxygen and cooling, and actually clean the air of dust and pollution, which is especially important in urban centers. As the video mentions, older, larger trees provide much more environmental benefit than younger, smaller trees, so don't wait - please do what you can today to have the greatest impact on our future.
